Meeting Notes
March 2011
The March 2011 meeting of the St. John's Austin Healey Club was held on March
7, 2011 at Seven Bridges Restaurant with fifteen members present.
Andy Sanfilippo, Club treasurer, advised that our Club balance is $$$$$$.
Most of the meeting was taken up with discussions about Southeastern Classic
XXVII that our Club is hosting in 2013. The tentative dates are April 4-6,
2013 or April 12-14, 2011. We are thinking that St. Augustine would be a great
venue and Dyaarl Anderson and Tony Martini have been in touch with the St.
Augustine Chamber of Commerce. As it was difficult to have a real serious discussion
in a restaurant, it was decided that our next monthly meeting would be the
place to start making plans. We will need everyone's input and help in this
endeavor, so please plan on attending our next meeting.
Dan Smith, Erling Onsager and John Leenhouts all gave reports on their car
restorations.
Discussion was held on our Garage Tour held on Sat. March 5th. Tony Martini
was in charge of this event and planned our route to end at Gail and Dyaarl
Anderson's home for dinner. (Note: This was a huge success, good turnout and
beautiful weather. A big THANK YOU to Gail and Dyaarl for a wonderful cook
out dinner with all the trimmings. Dyaarl's garage is absolutely amazing. Thanks
again to both of you. You are always wonderful hosts.)
I understand that we will see Paul Sandefer's and Bill Young's garages at a
later date.
Our next meeting will be held at the home of Nancy and John Leenhouts, 646
Thornwood Lane, Orange Park FL on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 7 PM. This will
be an important meeting so please plan on attending.
Be sure to check out the March 2011 issue of the Healey Marque. The "Healey
Chatter" article by Charlie Moshell on page 28 & 29 is about our Club
and our trip to Cedar Key in January. Read Charlie's prologue too. Since Spring
is here and it's already in the 80's, be sure to get out and drive your cars.
