Meeting Notes
Febuary 2011
The February
2011 meeting of the St. John's Austin Healey Club was held on February 7th
at the home of Cindy Bridger with seventeen members present.
Treasurer, Andy Sanfilippo, advised that our club balance is $$$$$$.
Discussion was held on the Rolex 24 in Daytona that several of our members
attended on January 29-30. Sounds like a good time was had by all. Big thanks
to Paul Sandefer for getting some reduced price tickets.
John Leenhouts advised that he had sent out a separate notice on the Valentine
Brunch on Sunday, February 13. We cannot have it at the beach as streets
will be closed that day for a 26.2 marathon. We will instead be going up
to Jekyll Island Club.
Andy advised that he purchased a car at auction. Ask him for details and
pictures.
Rick Stevenson advised that Dave Morton would have to resign from the presidency
as he is having to spend too much time out of town. Rick said that he would
take over for the rest of 2011 as president.
Nancy Leenhouts led a discussion on the SE Classic that we will be hosting.
The tentative dates are April 19-20, 2013. We will need everyone to help
with this event. Nancy will keep us informed of progress. Please sign up
and help.
The Garage Tour will be held on March 5, 2011. Paul Sandefer will be out
of town so we will go to Bill Young and Dyaarl Anderson's new garages. We
will do Paul's at a later date. (I now see that we won't be going to Bill's
either). Following are the details from Tony Martini:
Well here it is the final agenda for our garage tour on March 5th. We will
be doing a driving tour which will end at Dyaarl Anderson's new garage for
a tour and barbeque.
The Garage Tour will start at 11AM at Rick's house 14409 Mandarin Rd. We
intend to depart from Ricks no later than 11;20 heading South on San Jose
rt13 to Switzerland. We will then head East on Greenbrier, head into Aberdeen
touring many of the unpopulated nicely paved roads, cross onto Race Track,
traveling through Bartram Trail to Old St Augustine Rd, onto RT95 north to
9A and north to Fort Caroline and Dyaarl's garage.
The tour should take a couple of hours.
Dyaarl will have the artist on hand that painted the water colors of his
car. He will be available to do water colors of your cars. Bring photos to
give him.
Please email both Dyaarl and I by Monday the 28th (dyaarl65@comcast.net -
tmar1961@aol.com ) letting us know if you will be attending so that he can
prepare enough que for us. Any questions please give me a call.
As a foot note our intention is to have another garage tour of Paul and Bill's
garages at a later date. We should be able to turn that one into a little
tour too.
Have a great week.
Thanks
Tony
