Monthly Meeting Notes
August 2011

The August 2011 meeting of the St. John's Austin Healey Club was held on August 1, 2011 at the home of Bill and Charlene Maroney with seventeen members present.

Our treasurer, Andy Sanfilippo, announced our bank balance as $$$$$$$.

Discussion was held on the Southeastern Classic trip. We have six cars driving to Alabama in October for the Classic. We will be leaving on Wednesday, Oct. 19 and return on Oct. 23rd. A Tech Session will be held on Aug. 6th at John & Nancy Leenhouts' home to get the cars ready to drive. It will be at 9 AM.

Car restoration reports were given by Danny Smith, Paul Sandefer, Bill Maroney and Andy Sanfilippo

The remainder of the meeting was a discussion on the SE Classic that we will be hosting in 2013. Nancy Leenhouts (who is our leader and chairman of this event) will be moving with John to Lakeland Florida and will be unable to chair this endeavor . John has been named president of Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland and will start immediately. We are so proud and happy for John and Nancy, but oh my we will miss them. They won't be too far away so hopefully we will still see them occasionally.

After a lengthy discussion on whether we should continue to plan on hosting, Tony Martini volunteered to be chairman. Discussion was held on what needs to be done.

Our next meeting will be in conjunction with our annual Shrimp Boil on September 5. It will be at the home of Gary and Vicki Martz, 11440 Sedgemoore Dr. E, phone 268-7492 at 2 PM The Shrimp Boil will be provided but everyone is asked to bring a side dish and whatever alcoholic beverage you wish. Please let Vicki know if you will be attending and what you will be bringing.
