Monthly Meeting Notes
February 2010

The February 2010 meeting of the St. John's Austin Healey Club was held on February 1, 2010 at Don Juan's Mexican Restaurant. In attendance were Rick & Marilynn Stevenson, Erling & Sandy Onsager, John & Nancy Leenhouts, Paul & Judy Sandefer, Gary & Vicki Martz, Bill & Judy Young, Tony Martini, Dyaarl Anderson, Danny Smith, Bill Blackard, Cindy Bridger and we're pleased to have two new member couples - Bill & Charlene Maroney and Frank & Kathy Besag.

Our treasurer was not in attendance, but did send our bank balance number. We have $$$$$ in our account as of February 1, 2010.

It was discussed and decided to cancel the tech session scheduled for February 6th at Rick's house as several members were going to the Fun Run up to Fernandina Beach on that day.
Below is a report on the day by Gail Anderson:

On Saturday, February 6th, the Jaguar Club sponsored a British Cars Road Trip to Fernandina Beach. With the procession led by a Model T, approximately 83 hardy folks drove up for lunch at the Crab Trap Restaurant. Normally closed for lunch, the owner, a car buff himself, opened his dining room and offered a very nice menu selection, at a special price and with full bar service. He extended his hospitality to include a tour of the "museum" housing his car collection. Other members of the group toured Ft. Clinch where a Colonial Re-enactment was underway. It was a beautiful, though "brisk"day and a fun way for the Jaguar, Healey and Triumph Clubs to enjoy a real "Gathering of the British". A great time was had by all and the Leenhouts, the Andersons and Tony Martini and his friend Carol had enough fun for all of you who couldn't make the outing. There was talk of making it an annual affair and all agreed that would be something to talk up to encourage even more participation next year. Dyaarl sent pictures to the Club members.

The next event discussed was our annual Valentine Brunch drive up to the Jekyll Island Club on Sunday, February 14, 2010. John Leenhouts is in charge of this trip and we will meet at 9A and Heckscher Dr (Gate Station) at 9:30 AM. This is always a really fun day.
(I haven't gotten a report on this outing, but will get a report at the next meeting)

Bill Young and Tony Martini advised that they are still "working" on the details of the pub crawl to be held on March 28th. We will advise.

Danny and Gary both gave reports on the progress of their car restorations. Two new couple members were introduced and welcomed - Bill & Charlene Maroney and Frank & Kathy Besag.

There will be a Shop Meet on March 21st at 1 PM at Rick's garage. Let him know if you are attending.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 1, 2010 at the home of Gary & Vicki Martz, 11440 Sedgemoore Dr. E. Meeting will start at 7 PM
